Expedition Runs are immersive, multi-day endurance adventures crafted for ultra-runners, fast-packers, and thru-hikers who want more than just miles. These aren’t races, they’re curated journeys that blend physical challenge with cultural connection and natural beauty. Along the way, participants experience historic trails, vibrant local traditions, and unforgettable terrain that tests both body and spirit.

Three-day, 50–63 mile run through Colombia’s historic mule trails, with rappelling, swims, and cultural immersion opportunities.
Your journey begins with a surprise before climbing from Colombia’s historic railway region into higher elevations, following the pristine Río Nus, home to the famous historic trapiches. The lively town of Santo Domingo hosts dinner and simple accommodations.
An early start takes you along one of the region’s oldest mule trails. Ridges, meadows, rivers, and the historic Purgatorio Bridge, once a key gold transport route, lead to Alejandría’s iconic square. Rolling hills then guide you to Caza Diana on Guatapé Lake. This is the longest stage and slower participants may finish after dark so there will be optional group travel available.
A boat ride across Guatapé Lake sets the stage for a diverse final stretch – expansive lake views, remote trails, waterfalls, a rappel (or avoided with an alternative trail), and two short swims (or avoid by kayak crossings). The finish line can be found at an eco-boutique hotel, where fresh food and drinks await.
